Creepy! Of course, the angle shows that the legs belong to the photographer for real. But you can send pleasant shivers down your own spine by imagining the legs to be severed indeed, and the dark smudged on the wall to be blood.

Well the camera was on a tripod, not being held, so theoretically they could be anyone's legs.

Yea, come to think about it, the camera's elevation is maybe a little too high to held by the leg's owner ;]

assuming they were in a condition to hold anything...

Yea. And once that condition is fulfilled they could photograph their severed legs at any angle. (Now I'm getting sick :slow:)

mmm... i smell a bit of film noir mixed with the sweet scent of passionate sweat and the smell of dried blood on the wall...

Love the centralised composition in this, with an eerie undertone, cool! :D

not really, when I don't have a project to work on I get cranky.

Ah cranky can make you do interesting things, but also dangerous things! ;-)

I always adored Weegee. I particularly loved the way he could justify re-arranging crime scenes to look more interesting.

Apart from the fact that he was a "ambulance chaser"...
I dare say he would have appreciated a "post-modern" world ... after he had earned his living...!

...this series, the last two images in particular, seem very film noir-esque...

no, I will use mirror muse again; just need to step back a bit- I felt that even in 3 images I was running the risk of repeating myself. I actually took a peek at him this afternoon, but quickly so he didn't know I was looking. :)

yeah...maybe it's too damn hot too shoot, but the results are quite impressive. I love the "unknown" in your images...well I don't express it as well as I want (need some english immersion soooon)...

anyway.

bravo!

do you know the book "Dead Scenes" by Katherine Dunn? It's based on a scrapbook collected by a homicide detective with the LAPD from the 1930s to the 1950s...hardcore stuff... this image reminds me this book in some ways...
