A frequent source of inspiration - his photographs, his ink drawings and his truly bizarre and very tiny gouache abstracts. If you can get a hold of his book 'Miscellany' - do so.

O cool. That is your face? I thought it was a man's face, I swear I see a mustache there! Guess you have more demons in your head than I thought... I like the diagonal lines of the stairs, just the right perspective to make the railing continue the white on the wall. The hoop makes the composition complete. Don't know why - but if I try to imagine the pic without, something would be lacking. Looks like you're hiding your face in shame, or dejection.
I feel like I'm getting back in touch with your photos :]

it's me. I can be very changeable. I am fond of this one but I don't have a mustache.

Guess it's a trick of the light, or of the movement during the long exposure. (You know, my eyes always wonder to the right to see the EXIF date, even while I'm fully aware that you're shooting film :slow:)

The light in a long exposure does have a very different effect, I also overexpose and underdevelop my film for my shadow detail and I am very bad at holding still.

This is directly influenced by one of his doll prints- particularly the bow in the hair. (I don't normally wear one of those.)

Yes i see
Bellmer is the kind of artist which haunts us after discover him. I remember the first time when I saw a work of him it was in the museum Pompidou, his girl's sculpture with two pairs of legs and a trunk in the middle, it really marked me...

You should pick up a bio on him if you ever get the chance. He got a hideous rap as a misogynist in the 70's and it really wasn't true. He started making his first dolls with the love of his life, his first wife, who became deathly ill at a young age and he took care of her until her early death. The twinning, and the combination of feet at both ends was a desire to be inextricably entwined with that which he was losing.

I love these little details.
How did you get that face on her head (is this you, by the way... it's hard to tell)?

It is me. I was not comfortable in my initial pose so I dropped my head shortly into the exposure. I am surprised it recorded at all but I rather like it.
With perhaps one or two exceptions, and certainly in the past year I am the only model. I am the only person in this house.

Actually, I think that second face completes this photo... as if she's hiding, but the monster's really inside herself.
I love it when accidents turn out well. ^_^

thank you. It is rather liberating to be out of the blue room. I have not shot with the 5x7 view camera in about 3 years-I forgot how heavy the damn thing is.

I don't wear makeup but I do only wear black. More due to the fact that I am not well-equipped to dress myself and that black is slimming than to dark emotion.

One of the random notes I have in my notebook is 'haunt your own house.' I never followed through with it directly but these seem to fit the bill.

...they absolutely do; this one is particularly haunting, with both a childlike and vintage quality to the pose and surrounding, respectively; do you have photos similarly placed or hidden around most of your house?
